Medical Device Marking:
The part was laser marked using a 20-watt q-switched ytterbium fiber laser with a 420 mm focal length lens, having a working distance of 493mm. Gloves were used to handle the parts before processing. The parts were surface annealed to create a contrasting mark. Three passes were required to create a dark mark on the sample. The parts were marked at a frequency of 40kHz at a speed of 5 inches per second, using approximately 16 watts of power. The resulting cycle time was 19.13 seconds.
