Mild steel is one of the most used metals in fabrication and commonly cut by lasers. CO2 lasers have been the preferred method over plasma and water jet cutting. However, Fiber lasers have technological advancements well beyond that of CO2 lasers and are capable of cutting mild steel with almost half the power.
