UID marking was done using a 20-watt q-switched ytterbium fiber laser with a 160 mm focal length lens. The parts were surface annealed, to create brightly contrasting marks. The parts were marked using approximately 18 watts of power, with a frequency of 35kHz, and at a speed of 3.5 inches per second. The resulting cycle time was 10.49 seconds.
