Application Details:

Laser cutting of MagX vinyl laminated magnetic sheeting: Flexible magnetic sheets with three kinds of thicknesses of 0.006”, 0.020” and 0.030” were cut using a 20-watt Laser Photonics BlackStar Fiber Laser. The strips with 5.5” x 2” were cut using 18 watts of power and frequency of 20 kHz. Partially cuts, i.e., only cut through the black magnetic layer were made in the middle of the strips. Depending on the thickness of the samples, the cutting speeds were set at different values. The cut strips were cleaned with tissue paper to remove the black residue.
