Laser Cutting Glass Fiber

Application Details:

Laser cutting of this glass fiber application was done with a low power system in our lab. The recommendation for this process, for the grey bulk molding compound, would be for a minimum of 100 Watt CO₂ laser for projected cutting speeds of 1mm per second. The preferred system would be a 200 Watt laser system for projected cutting speeds of 2-3mm per second.
